Our Story

2024

DLC is born

De Learning Compass (DLC) was founded with a deep love for children and a passion for helping them thrive. Our journey began with our founder Sandra De La Cruz, an experienced educator who dedicated nine years to teaching in public school before transitioning into a school psychologist. Through years of assessing and supporting children with diverse learning needs, she developed a strong understanding of how children learn best and what truly helps them succeed. DLC is the realization of a lifelong dream—one that brings together over 30 years of experience working with children and the best practices in education, psychology, and social-emotional development.

What started as a small initiative in her living room quickly grew as she witnessed the remarkable progress children were making. Recognizing the need for a dedicated space, she expanded to create a nurturing environment where more children could benefit from specialized support.

At DLC our team consists of highly trained professionals, many of whom are school psychologists or pursuing degrees in related fields. This means we have a deep understanding of academic needs, learning differences, and the best ways to support children in achieving their full potential.

DLC is more than just a place for learning—it is a community where children are encouraged, supported, and guided with warmth and expertise. We are here to help them navigate their educational journey with confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of self.
