Transform Challenges into Triumphs
Struggles with focus, impulsivity, or big emotions can make daily life overwhelmingβfor both you and your child.
What if there was a way to help your child thrive and bring calm and connection back into your family?
Β
π Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for PreK-12th Grade π
At De Learning Compass Center, we believe that understanding emotions and building strong social skills are just as important as academics. Our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program helps children recognize, express, and manage their feelings while improving their ability to communicate and connect with others.
π₯ Small Groups for Big Growth
Each SEL group includes no more than six students, ensuring personalized attention and a safe, supportive environment where children feel understood and valued.
π§ What is Social-Emotional Learning?
SEL teaches children to:
β
Recognize their emotions β Is your child feeling frustrated, anxious, or overwhelmed but unsure how to express it? SEL helps children name their emotions instead of acting out.
β
Regulate their reactions β Instead of tantrums, anger outbursts, or shutting down, kids learn tools to calm themselves, ask for help, and make better choices.
β
Improve communication β Whether itβs asking for a turn, making friends, or expressing frustration without yelling, children develop positive ways to interact with others.
β
Solve problems & build relationships β We teach kids to read social cues, resolve conflicts, and understand othersβ perspectives, making peer interactions smoother and friendships stronger.
π οΈ How We Teach SEL:
π΅ Zones of Regulation β Kids learn to identify their emotions using four simple color-coded zones (Blue = Sad/Tired, Green = Calm/Ready to Learn, Yellow = Excited/Worried, Red = Angry/Overwhelmed). We teach coping strategies to help children move between zones appropriately.
π¬ Everyday Speech Curriculum β Students practice real-life social interactions through engaging activities, videos, and role-playing, reinforcing skills like taking turns, listening, problem-solving, and handling disagreements.
π Interactive Learning β Through games, stories, movement, and hands-on exercises, children practice emotional awareness and self-control in a fun, engaging way.
